Since the release of phantom darkness, yugioh has been dominated by dark armed dragon.  At first I did not like him because i figured it was too difficult to manage only having three dark monsters in the graveyard consistently but boy was i wrong.  people r running him in a dark armed dragon return deck but i have also seen him in DDT and even a weird dragon build.  they are managing their graveyards so well and also have so much speed, the evil reign of the dragon seems like it may last the whole six months.

I dont know about you guys but i neither have the money nor want to spend that kind of money on yugioh.  However i want to win at tournaments and as the tournament i most often plays in does have some high-rolling dark armed dragon carriers, I need to be prepared.  At first I thought of just siding tech cards for it such as bottomless trap hole, black horn of heaven and shadow-imprisioning mirrors.  the problem is a good player can play around those cards and also will have the combos of the deck far more often then i was going to have the tech card.  I had to do something more to be able to compete with people spending close to a thousand dollars on cardboard with a shiny picture(hey i probably would if i could too) but that was not an option.  Even Chris Moosmans exodia build is ridiculously expensive for a fun alternative. What was i gonna do?

Well I had to go back to my favorite type of deck which is burn! Most people find burn slow and annoying but i have always enjoyed it and the last deck i did really well with was a version of odyssey burn.  I think that that deck relies on crush card too much in this format and i wont have one till march 26th.  I was reading up and also talking to people who went to costa mesa and started hearing about different tech that people were using.  i tripped upon James pennicotts burn build and was instantly inspired.  I took the ideals of that deck and threw in my own unique flavor

this deck aims to do burn and do it quickly while also trying to prevent the moves of other players as much as possible.  The big attackers of the deck like lily and trooper can attack under level limit area b or gravity bind.   Giant rats are added for the searchibility factor as they can fetch exiled, trooper or lily.  So far in online matchups the deck has done very well against the main types of decks out there especially dark armed dragon decks as it is teched out for him. It also plays well against gadget decks and monarch decks so if i play others i can still frustrate and win.  The side is used to even more expose the weakness of a deck and to further prevent and control the field.  If i know no one is using decrees at a tourney i swap out the mst and ground mole for two needle ceilings.  Also marshmallon and spirit repaer are excellent additions but im very picky about having only 40 cards in a deck.  For anyone who wants a cheaper alternative to dark armed dragon return and enjoys burn and quick damage then this may be the deck for you
