Ozzati, Draenei Fire Mage (WoW)
Posted On 08/16/2007 07:21:45

So I've got this little deck I've been working on.  I'm not claiming its a perfect list (even a good one, really), but one with a lot of potential, if molded in the right hands (ie, not mine).  Be gentle!

Abilities: 18

4 Dragon’s Breath

4 Fizzle

4 Fire Blast

4 Arcane Missiles

2 Fireball

Allies: 26

4 Apprentice Teep

4 Apprentice Merry

4 Jeleane Nightbreeze

4 Parvink

3 “Chipper” Ironbane

3 Moira Darkheart

2 Izza Spindleflame

1 Kal’ai, The Uplifting

1 King Magni

//Quests: 16

4 Rescue the Survivors

4 The Defias Brotherhood

4 Chasing A-Me 01

2 One Draenei’s Junk. . .

2 The Missing Diplomat

This list is obviously very similar to the Phadalus Aggro/Control builds, because I started off making conservative changes to something that I already knew worked very well.  The essential question is whether Perdition’s Blade, Chain Lightning, and Totems are worth more than Dragon’s Breath, Fizzle, and Fire Blast.  Dragon’s Breath is obviously a very powerful card, and one the effects the board much sooner than Chain Lightning, not to mention the handy protector-and-Samroth-nullifying “loses all abilities” clause.  And Fizzle is truly an all star, nearly at the same level as Dragon’s Breath in my opinion, except that it generates tempo advantage instead of card advantage.  It will always be a 1:1 trade in cards, but it will very often be a 1-resource:2-resource trade, which could well be enough to swing an early Phadalus “mirror” in favor of the mage.

Any suggestions?  Does anyone even read these things?

Calling All Rogues (WoW)
Posted On 08/15/2007 07:24:13

So the purpose of this little exercise is twofold:  first of all, I want to test the blog feature with a post slightly less inane than "TESTING, 1, 2, 3", or whatever.  And second, I'm curious to see what the TCGplayer community's deckbuilders can come up with.

Lots of people have expressed interest in the rogue class since FoO was spoiled, but I still have yet to see a truly solid list, not for Poison, nor Rush, not even a modified version of the equipment-heavy builds I saw before FoO.

So do you think you're up to the task?  Send me an email at Jaziering@gmail.com with a deck, a core list, a mere suggestion. . .whatever.  If the results aren't terribly disappointing, you can expect me to talk about it in an upcoming article.  Imagine the fame!!  The women!!!

Good Luck,

Jake
