Moor GPTs by Bernie Makino Who am I? Where have you seen my name? Well, either you’ve been reading mediocre articles for years, you play tournaments on the mid-east coast, or you’ve been stalking me. Hopefully, one of the first two. I’m a player recently returning to Magic after a brief excursion to the Spoils, a card game which I thought was great, but the company went under. I was more successful at that than I had been at Magic, but I returne... Read More
I saw this decklist over at another Magic strategy site. It looks pretty good especially the Platinum Angel. Many decks will have a hard time destroying it. You have counters to protect it and Academy Ruins to replay it. And Plumeveil surprises most people. It's cheap and can block most of the creatures in the format. Mono Blue Plumeveil Control 3 Platinum Angel 4 Plumeveil 2 Teferi, Mage Of Zhalfir 2 Venser, Shaper Savant 4 Mind Stone 4 Cryptic Co... Read More
Now that Pro Tour Hollywood is over, many players will be scouring magicthegathering.com for the decklists of the pros. We're done with Pro Tour Hollywood. I love Constructed Tours. They're just so much cooler than Limted ones. Also, at least in my opinion, you learn a lot more from them. That said, I do not think that this tournament was particularly informative. Going in, everyone said Faeries was the best. Is it still? Probably, at least in some sense. I think much of the failure of Faeries is due to the excellent play skill at Tour. I expect Faeries will take home the most slots at Regionals. Speaking of whic... Read More
After yet another frustrating Friday Night Magic where for the 74th time in a row I just can't seem to win, I went home determined two weeks ago to find a way to beat Faeries and win one of these big events. I want to be a pro like my idol ST Vasquez. Someday I too aspire to have an 1800+ rating and be in the top 5 in Reno. I figured I needed an aggressive deck to try and beat Faeries before they get rolling, so I wanted to play stuff like Goldmeadow Stalwart. The problem is that all the ex... Read More
