I've actually managed to play a few times this week without writing about it. My job keeps me busy enough that I have been able to squeeze in the two hours needed to draft. Over the course of the week, unrecorded, I've purchased Wrath of God to make Cheon's UW pickles list, then re-sold them when I realized the deck was pretty dissapointing. I lost three queues in a row before finally scrapping the deck.

Newsflash! I attended a Regional today in Mobile, Alabama, home of art that involves hanging objects and the British term for cell phones. And yes, we did manage to hit double-digit attendance. Ten people strong! I played a terrible homemade deck that I call 0.70 Twigbelly in that is has approximately 70% of the power of a Twigbelly deck. What do I care, I have my Q for Nationals already. I just like to play cards. Here is the thing that the kids are calling a decklist. It is strikingly consiste... Read More

that, today’s discussion is about what I played, what I saw, and then I’ll wrap
up with some talk of Worlds.

I thought it would be a useful exercise to go through all the data from PTQ top 8's and see how each draft archetype is doing. A couple things to be noted: I tried to reduce the number of archetypes as much as possible, but did it more by tribe than colors. For instance, R/x Giants includes R/w with Kithkin Greathearts, and R/g for Elvish Handservat. However, while the two R/U/B decks had virtually identical manabases, one was Faerie based playing red for several Boggart Sprite Chasers, whil... Read More
