Superman has been known by many names. Avatar of Peace, the Big Blue Boy Scout, the All-American Hero are but a few of them. However, I like the 'Protector of the Innocent' name that was given to him. I believe that this name is what makes him a hero. Whenever someone is in trouble, Superman will do everything in his god-like power to rescue, save, and protect those being harmed. I took the VS System theme of protection to a new level this way. Most people don't think of making a Team Superman protection deck, but I found that it works really well.
With the release of DWF, we now have a bigger expansion of protection-themed characters as well as more support plot twists and locations. From a 1-drop Army version of Jimmy Olsen, and a new 4-drop defender-changer like Superman, Clark Kent who doesn't have to activate, these characters are getting better. Desperate Sacrifice switches defenders for you, so if they attack your 2-drop to win the game, you can switch it to your 5-drop and say sorry, you just stunned for no reason. Kandor, City in a Bottle is a permanent Coast City for ALL of your characters, AND you can also switch them when you need to? This is probably the best protection card made in DWF.
With all of the support, I had to create a deck with it. Also, from where I am, we have Golden Age tournaments a lot, so I threw some Golden Age cards. You may change them out if you'd like, but I was just trying to stick with the protection theme. Here it goes:

As you may notice, there are quite a few locations here. If you'd like, switch out Krypto with Kelex, Faithful Servant. Although he won't be as big as Krypto, he can fetch you a location that you do not have in hand at that time. Also, if you are even more hardcore when it comes to playing team-specific only cards, then you may switch Mobilize out for a For the Man Who Has Everything, although I wouldn't suggest it as The Guardian, Jim Harper is too good to miss. Other than that, this is the deck. Let's analyze this.
You want to have evens initiative with this deck, as your 3, 5, and 7-drop is a bit more defense specialized.
On turn 1, recruit your army character.
On turn 2, hopefully you have a Newsboy Legion and Krypto out. With your attack, Krypto is a 5/5, and no character on turn 2 should be able to stop him without relying on an attack pump. To cause even more fun, if you have Kandor, then switch Krypto and The Newsboy Legion, and stun their 1-drop with yours.
On turn 3, you hopefully have a Smallville. Recruit The Guardian, and put him in your support row behind Krypto? Yes, as it will force them to attack the dog. When they do, switch The Guardian with Krypto and he becomes a 6/6. That's a bit high for most 3-drops also. However, if they can stun him, then either use Against All Odds to stop the stun, or use Home Sweet Home and recover him at the start of the recovery phase.
On turn 4, recruit Vartox. Start with Krypto in front and Vartox behind The Guardian. Do your attacks with Krypto. After the attack is declared legal, move him behind the Guardian, making Krypto a 6/6. If you can have Krypto stun their 4-drop (by team attacking with The Newsboy Legion, then do so. Then, continue with your attacks.
On turn 5, bring out Scorn. He is a defensive giant. His only flaw, though, is it's not a good idea to switch him to the back row at any time, because then he becomes a lower-than-average 5 drop. Defense if key here. If you can get through their attacks, then you are most likely home free.
On turn 6 is Kara Zor-El. She is good because she gives those protectors invulnerability. At first, I thought she said defenders, but she doesn't. She says characters protecting other characters, so even on your attacks, your front row characters are basically invulnerable. Finish them this turn if you can. Your Smallville, The Guardian, etc. should give you better than average stats. If all else fails...
On turn 7 is the Protector of the Innocent himself. He is very good. It's like those episodes where all the little guys are doing something, and can't quite get it, so the boss comes and shows em how it's done. This guy will do that.
Hopefully Superman is an idea you had. I'll go ahead and let you know that this deck does not fare too well against rush decks. It does well against curve decks. However, I guess it all depends on the draw. I hope you enjoyed reading this. Look for more from me in the future.
