eventide

as most avid magic players already know, eventide is supposed to prerelease very soon, and its debut is going to follow even sooner. and if you are the player that you say you are (a very competent, yet meandering one) you've already doused your computer with searches for the new cards, cause we all know that theres quite a few sites that offer sneek peaks, and if your this type of player then you've already seen what they've done to the colors, and from what i have seen personally there is alot of discussion going on about the allied color changes being made. some people are happy that the magic developers have decided to throw a fork in the road and branch off to newer ideas for the game(like going back to ravnica block), but others are more dissapointed with the developers choice of color scheme, mainly because of these reasons; 1. why change the allied colors in the middle of a set that deploys the everly creative tribes who run on certain colors (do the developers think we aren't being creative enough) and 2. why even change it to these colors in the first place, if your going to do something new, honestly, do something new, we've seen these colore schemes before, mainly in the ravnica block as earlier stated. i mean i know personally as an avid magic player myself i like to see new and creative deck themes and ideas, and im sure there are some of you who say, " there will be new and creative themes and schemes," and im one of you, its just that im a little disappointed with the route that the developers are taking, i mean think about it, if they can do this with eventide, what the hell are they going to with the next set, common be original.

if you have any opinion on the matter please blog back

yours truly the covertgoof

my two cents is related to your tidbit on the ravnica block...TBH, and i mean that in a wordy kinda way...i think ravnica was wizards pullback into a greater beyond here...where they left the one block powerhouses (mirrodin, kamigawa) and went back to the basics of letting players feel at home with a set they could relate to, in retro vs. the kamigawa set and mirrodin set really made me and my friends seem out of touch with the multiverse of flavors and mechanics....i mean...arcane spells? leave that word to wow and dnd...dont try to bring it into a spot where it would die after a block...and as for eventide, i once again feel like the days of ravnica are upon us as we fall back into opposing colors and mechanics...i would love (and hate) to see lightning helix come back and lay waste once again (we all remember the topdeck of the century with that card right?).

i do agree, wizards, is going back to their roots, and i think shards of alaria or whatever its called is going to go even further back (sounds like a new block of legends and those days). anyway, nice blog man, points to you
