Tips on point totals
Posted On 05/08/2008 18:10:20 by althgrea1
Okay whats up guys and gals well this article is gonna be mainly about point totals, for instance have you ever looked at your heroclix in awe not knowing what to put next to a superman with a 200 point total? i bet you have well these are some tips on how to "budget" your points in a game.

Okay first peices ranging from 50points and below.
okay there are many peices out there whos points dont live up to there character, but non-theless use them it is wise to use these pieces in a 200 point team build. Having high point valued pieces will just end in deafeat. keep your build total low enough yet powerfull enough to take out the opposition. i suggest moonknight from the Avengers set. his points are rather low but he does pack a punch. Most pieces in this range are support pieces. Powers ranging from support, probability control, outwit, or perplex. These peices are best left behind yet notto behind where their range wont reach. Some people like to use these peices as scapegoats as well, as with mastermind just passing the damage down to the next.

51-99
okay now here are the real hard ones to pick. They spend alot of points so you never know who to pick, though they do have higher combat values than before. Pieces in this range usually are supporters or powerhouses. pieces closer to 50 points will usually have and outwit, telekenisis, support, range combat, close combat or probability control as well as perplex. Higher and they get stronger these peices are a "back up" its good to keep these guys close to the fight if your heavy hitters get in a bind try to help them out with these guys. Remember to keep players with support back in case they need a quick patch up. Use these in a 200 point or higher team build.

100-199
okay now these are the real deal. Characters in this point value are usually powerhouses. Having higher combat values as well as powers ranging from prob, outwit, range combat, close combat, phsycic blast, support and other great abilities. Its best to keep these buys in the battle further damaging your opponent, unless they have support keep them back as always. These guys are the main militia in your battles. Keeping these guys ahead will grant you victory points. Although you still have to ration out your point total well. Use these in a 300 or higher team build. choose carefully some of these guys can be flops!

200 and up
Okay here are the do it themselves. These pieces have some of the highest combat values youll ever see. Always keep these guys in the fight. There powers and abilities are endless! Though there isnt much stragetey to these guys (unless they have the new white powers) there is one tip i can give you always reatreat when you know hes done for. I mean really you really want your opponent to get ALL those points!? No of course not! when you know your done for, run for cover try to get him healed to full health with a couple of supports. If you have any reserves send them in and try to finish off where the big guys left off. Its never recomended to use a piece in this range in a 300 point build, try to use them in 400 points or higher where you still have enough points for another hardhitter and a support or two.

well thats it ill have a new one next week if anyone liked this advice see ya
