Dark Gaia OTK a cheap deck that works
Posted On 05/05/2008 23:34:08 by j-man17 - Read 30882 time(s)
Evil Hero Dark Gaia was first used from what I saw only in Demise OTK. I like Dark Gaia so I tried to make a Demise Gaia deck and it sucked. It required too much luck and to me it made so much more sense just to run the normal Doom Dozer version. But I still tried to make a Demise Gaia because I thought Gaia had some potential. Then March 1st came around and Advanced Ritual Art got limited. Then I realized that by taking out Demise I could make a deck more devoted to Gaia.

So I created this...

monsters 15
3 Masked Beast Des Gardius
3 The Masked Beast
3 Valkyrion The Magna Warrior
3 Gigantes
2 Jinzo
1 Dark Magician of Chaos

spells 25
3 Hand Destruction
3 Magical Mallet
3 Trade-In
3 Dark Fusion
3 Reasoning
3 Dark Calling
2 Magical Stone Excavation/Spell Reproduction
1 heavy Storm
1 Giant Trunade
1 Monster Reborn
1 Premature Burial
1 Card Destruction

fusion
3 Evil Hero Dark Gaia

The Monsters:
masked beast des gardius, the masked beast and valkyrion are here because they are trade in fodder and they are the best lv8s I could find that can't be summoned by reasoning and can be used for dark Gaia

gigantes I really like here because he can be used to summon Gaia, you can special summon him with his own effect if you need to deal some more damage for game and he can be used as tribute fodder for an in-hand jinzo or dark magician of chaos

jinzo and dark magician of chaos are here because they are the best targets for reasoning in this deck, jinzo because he stops your opponents raigeki break, torrential tribute, mirror force etc. and dark magician of chaos to get spells back.

The Spells:

reasoning is here for special summons and dumping fusion material into your graveyard, I doubt the deck could be possible without this

spell reproduction/magical stone excavation are used in case you need to get back a dark calling or heavy storm etc. that you dumped into the grave. I have tried the deck with both and spell reproduction 9/10 times is just as effective as magical stone excavation

One of the things I like about this deck is that it is a cheap deck to build, if you have none of the cards for it you might spend a little under $100, more than half of that is just from dark magician of chaos and jinzo and also that is for the entire deck and you probably have most of the cards already.

From my testing it seems that this deck has about an 80% chance of winning by my 1st or 2nd turn depending on who wins the dice roll and about a 90% chance of winning on my 3rd to 5th turn

Lets talk about allure of darkness, allure is not wanted and not needed in this. Allure removes the monster from play and we want them in the grave to be removed by dark calling and the deck has enough draw power that allure is not necessary.

MSE can be replaced with Spell Reproduction, if you RTFA.

So, you play this on WC08, eh?  Explains how you got your ridiculous win ratio.  You can't take those in-game ratios and relate them to the actual game, even if you play online.

Anyway, I don't think it would hurt much to ditch a couple of the high-powered OTK cards for cards that still fuse but are summonable, I.E. trading power for stability.  Maybe some 1900 ATK Fiend monsters like Archfiend Soldier?

lightning blitz: mse can be easily replaced by spell reproduction thats y i put mse/spell reproduction. I prefer jinzo because he can be ss by reasoning so i can get him my first turn.

neptheys: i see what you mean but allure doesnt fit well so what would u suggest use

Oh! How is this cheap? MSE costs a ton currently.

Interesting concept. It does look a too much luck dependant. I would use Royal Decrees in here and swap Jinzo's for something more useful.

Interesting. I think it has the potential to work, regardless of how he said it, BlastYoBoots was correct on the consistancy of the deck's draws.

If you were to add a little more power to the draws, this would be something good.

almost all of the games i played using this deck were on wc08 so i didnt stack and it doesnt make sense to me either how it wins that quick but im sure it does and why dont you try it out before you bash it

This deck's bad hand potential is ridiculous.  I don't know how you got those 80-90% statistics, but you must be a master deck-stacker.
