who says i died?
Posted On 05/05/2008 16:19:43 by TheDarkCreator
Hey its The Dark Creator,

I decided to start blogging for you guys and see where it goes.

this is deck i posted on other site. I havent written an article in a while so this a warm-up originals will come soon.

People say chain burn died with the limitation of ojama trio and the introduction of both Prime Material Dragon and Energy-Absorbing Monolith coupled with the easy access to Jinzo and I think thats the furtherest thing from the truth. There are 2 reasons why:

#1: Those are side deck cards(excluding Jinzo). (chain burn is designed to beat you game 1 thus you are in a must-win situation in which the chain burn player will generally into something else or side twisters in preparation for your s/t hate. These days a slower burn with solemn and bribe(x3 each) is your best option).

reason #2: The father of all the chain cards chain energy.

You may say "DC why play a continous card in chain burn?" Well there are actually two reasons for that well.
Reason #1: You are going to lay your whole hand on the table. with chain energy they take 2000+ easy on their first turn. helping with the Jinzo issue by making them play less cards than they want to making it take longer for DAD deck to get their 1 Jinzo

reason #2: we only need to get you to chain link 4 for our best effects. We have five spell and trap zones.

mons:4
1 spirit reaper
1 marshmallon
1 Lava Golem
1 Volcanic Queen
1 morphing jar

spells:12
1 Chain Strike
2 Meteor Destruction
3 poision of old man
3 chain energy
1 oozaki
2 Tremendous Fire

traps:25
3 secret barrel
1 ceasefire
3 jar of greed
1 torrential
3 Accumulated Fortune
1 ojama trio
1 magic cylinder
3 dimension wall
3 fire darts
3 reckless greed
3 waboku

total: 42

29 of the 42 cards in this deck burn the rest draw and defend. some of the burn cards double as defensive cards. 16 of the 29 burn cards do 1000 or more when they hit. the truth is barring an FTK deck game 1 is a lock 90% of the time. and since most ppl only side one Prime-Material Dragon meaning you SHOULD beat them before they get to it given the draw power you have just make it to turn four (sometimes three) and you win. Side for FTKs, the dragon and Energy-Absorbing Monolith and you are good.

deck tips:
-Go first(only OTK decks should go ever second)

-Make chain energy the LAST card you play on the turn you activate it.

-Activate chain energy the turn draw it(the first one complete at least one damage chain before activating the others)
thats it for this one see you next time folks.

Blog edit: added volcanic queen and lava golem for protection against Jinzo they also help transition into stall/burn if thats what you choose. morphing jar helps with the bad hands burn decks prone to.

next blog: may 12th UK Nats and SJC Philly review. Also a look at LODT's impact on the north american metagame.
