My blogs fall into three main categories.

1) relaying of past events (tournament reports, interviews, etc.)

2) deck ideas orways to change existing decks

3) ridiculous declarative statements designed to start discussion and debate

It seems many people think that most of my recent blogs have been too much of column 3, so I will step away from saying things like, "Oona is a fake," and "Sygg is teh nuts," and intstead gve you a deck list.

Pwnza

4 Flamekin Bladewhirl

4 Tattermunge Maniac

4 Inner-Flame Acolyte

4 Fulminator Mage

4 Ashemoor Gouger

4 Countryside Crusher

4 Tarfire

4 Lash Out

4 ?

4 ?

4 Mutavault

16 Mountain

This is a post-Shadowmoor deck for Lorwyn block constructed.

You will note that we are missing 8 cards. This is because we are missing two important pieces to round out the deck.

One, we need another good land destruction spell to go with Fulminator Mage. For the Standard verson, Avalance Riders or Boom/Bust would be nice.

Two, we need a third burn spell, preferably something that can hit creatures or players. In the Standard version we have Incinerate or, should we move to snow mana, we could use Skred. I'd rather have Sulfurous Blast over either.

For now, I'm replacing them with Sunflare Shaman (that's kind of a burn spell, in this deck) and Flamekin Harbinger (to give us 16 one-drops when we really only need 12).

In addition, we have Zoetic Caverns, Keldon Megaliths or Ghitu Encampment in Standard. I would bump the land count up to about 24-25 in that format with a deck like this, as we want to reliably cast 4-drops Riders and Sulfurous Blast on turn 4.

Most people like to have a big fatty, a la Shivan Dragon or Magnivore, as a finisher in Ponza-style decks, but the 4/4 Gouger and the possibly even larger Big Country* are good enough for me. Also, not playing any spells bigger than 3 mana lets us run fewer lands.

Sound off in the comments.

You're welcome for not bringing up any new conspiracy theories or saying that some other creature will be the bees knees in the next set.

I would say, "hey, new Main Phase coming soon," but you folks know better. I'm not a reliable source.

You'll get one soon.

*I couldn't decide which 'Big Country' pun to go with here. The Scottish rock band? The classic Western starring Gregory Peck and Chuckles Heston? Bryant "I ruined basketball for Canada" Reeves? I'll let you decide.

undie, what i meant was something that can hit either creatures or players, as opposed to only creatures (a la skred) or players (a la giant's ire).

everyone else figured it out.

"Two, we need a third burn spell, preferably something that can hit creatures or players"

as opposed to the burnspells that only hit planeswalkers

Actually, there's also the MonoHybrid red card, 2/r 2/r 2/r Instant deals 4 to a creature or player.  That's an auto include in a Monored deck.

Since you need 8 cards and need more burn why not +4 Mountain +4 Shard Volley reubs?

Burn Trail: 6 to the dome is better when you don't have to sacrifice 4+ damage to get it.
Fire Spout only earthquakes without G, which makes you cry against the Faeries.
You could conceivably run rain of tears if you fix the mana: you already are running 2 black cards.
Or you could run Mannequin with riders (and additional Acolyte fun)

I think it's called Firespout it's allmost the new Pyroclasm but for 3 damage instead of 2. It has some disputed wording about whether G or R is spent on it. But it looks cool.

I think rift bolt will do just fine as the additional Burn spell. As for the extra LD spell the Boom side of Boom//Bust is the only LD spell under three mana in Red. Unless your increase your land count to be able to play Avlanche riders that seems to be the only fit, in standard of course

what about the 3 damage spell with conspire. It seems like having a card that can throw six damage at the head of your opponents for 4 mana would be good in such a deck.
