Local Tournament Report. Playing on Neutral Ground
Posted On 05/16/2008 20:40:52 by Pike16
Today I participated in a local tournament in NY’s Neutral Ground. Surprisingly there wasn’t as many people as usual entering. (Must have been the rain) But nonetheless, I decided to be in the tournament. I usually don’t end up winning tournaments. For those of you who know me you know I refuse to run any Tier 1 deck. And for those who don’t. See last sentence. Why? Two reasons. 1- I’m a non-conformist. 2- $300 bucks for cardboard just doesn’t seem right. I like the challenge a... Read More

I like to play control.  Generally I choose one of thenon-counterspell sort, but I’m not too picky if counters are the way it has togo.  I also hate mirror match (especiallyin those counter wars).  Basically,I’m all about killing creatures and winning in a few monumental turns.  I’ve played type 2 control in manyways, let’s take a quick look at my history as I can remember it: Onslaught Block: Both BG Oversold Cemetary aggro-control andUW ControlMirrodin Block: UW control and Tooth... Alright, since there was some confusion with my last blog over what format I was talking about, I’ll be clearer. Today’s deck list is for block, BLOCK. The Brion Stoutarm combo deck from last time was also a BLOCK deck. I’m not being rude, I just don’t like receiving posts saying that somebody tested out the deck and it got hosed by G/W Wish… a block Glittering Wish deck? Was it magically reprinted so that I didn’t know about it? Okay, enough poster-bashing, on to the goodies. ... Read More

Simic Mirrorweave

Random Thoughts of X – Mirrorweave  I know many of you have plans for Mirrorweave. It hasn’t really lived up to the hype though as it’s price and trade value are slipping. While not exactly a crap Rare it is becoming economical. So I got to thinking of a cheap deck for the Kitchen table game.   Not Tough Enough  10 Island 6 Forest 4 Llanowar Reborn 2 Terramophic Expanse  4 Simic Initiate 4 Aquastrand Spider 4 Plaxcaster Frogling 3 Phantom Nantuko 4 Cytoplast Root-ki...
