It is a common Yu-gi-Oh philosophy that the more options you have, the better position you are in. This has made decktypes such as gadgets and volcanic monarch very viable options lately. One day i decided to combine the two ideas to further exploit card advantage and also provide the gadgets with another form of destruction. This was the deck pre-MARCH 1st
Volcanic Gadgets 40 cards
3 cyber dragon
2 green gadget
2 red gadget
2 yellow gadget
3 volcanic rocket
3 volcanic shell
3 volcanic scattershot
1 breaker the magical warrior
2 back to square one
2 lightning vortex
2 blaze accelerator
1 wild fire
2 pot of avarice
1 foolish burial
1 heavy storm
1 premature burial
3 phoenix wing wind blast
3 solemn judgement
1 the transmigration prophecy
1 call of the haunted
1 torrential tribute
side deck
3 enemy controller
1 shrink
2 d.d crow
3 pulling the rug
2 royal oppression
1 snipe hunter
1 mystical space typhoon
2 waboku
this deck won my friend a tournament just last thursday and had been consistent before that as well. He basically trys to gain as many advantages as he can while controlling his opponents moves through spin effects, major destruction and the solemns. Most people are shocked that it runs two accelerators, however it needs all the options it can get and also unlike volcanic monarch decks it runs scattershots which have been a game winning move several times both because of the destruction and the burn.
The side deck is very VERSATILE and can help out against many opponents. it is not a fast deck but it is a very consistent one as in 4 rounds last thursday my friend went 8-2 in duels against some really tough competition including demise, gadgets splashed with monarchs, and warrior monarch.
The planned changes for this deck to the new banlist are to drop cyber and breaker for raiza and cyber phoenix to continue the philosophy of the deck and to swap out call for monster reborn. The side will probably remain although shadow-imprisioning mirrors may be incorporated for opponents using the new feared dark decks. honestly i only recommend this deck for a highly patient and skilled duelist. If you are try it as it provides a very fun (for you, irritating for the opponent) and consistent alternative to the dark decks and otks out there
