Usually reactions to this card:
- 4 DEF? That sucks!
- Holy cow man! 11 ATK!?
- Huh?
- What’s a physical?
- I don’t get it.
- That should be a rare!
- No reinforcement? I’ll smash you!
-- Then, you play a Mind Control or Momentary Distraction.
Feral is atop the offensive 4-drops in Vs System. On the initial comparison you’d see her as worse than good old Sabretooth, Feral Rage, but that little Physical Trait is mighty handy. First off, 11 ATK is just awesome, she can stun nearly everything. That 4 DEF looks insulting, but it’s more of a bait for Momentary Distraction.
Right there I wanted to draw a nice picture of Feral on a boat with a fishing rod, then a view beneath the water of 4 DEF on a hook, then a Momentary Distraction with question marks above it’s head thinking about taking the bait. But it was just too hard, and I’m no artist.
BACK TO ADVENTURE
So, that 4 DEF is actually kind of fun in a way. Of course, it’s usually worse than Insignificant Threat (broken MVL card). Feral also has that no reinforcement effect too. That’s actually a downside. When your opponent attacks over the curve your forced to take that 3 or 4 breakthrough. But if they pump up too much, if you’re running Mental characters, which you should be, you can play a Mind Control! And no, your opponent will not see it coming. Speaking of Feral, she’s also got a cool payment effect. A resource point to move her hidden and can’t stun while attacking. It’s better than it sounds. You can drop out another 4-drop on turn 5 with that payment or you can use it way late on turn 7. Any way you use it, it’s awesome. Oh, and you should remember, Feral doesn’t have to be visible to use that effect either. She can use it even if she’s already hidden.
