Usually, once a player breaks into the ranks of the Pro Tour, they stop playing local tournaments. Although I won a PTQ about a month ago, I just love battling too much to not play Friday Night Magic. I play on Magic Workstation as well, but FNM is just a great way to get cards in your hands and get comfortable with lots of different cards. As such, I tend to bounce between different decks a lot but mostly play control decks, or decks featuring new cards. Here's what I've... Read More
Howdy all once again, this is Strono. Unfortunately, yesterday, I typed out this entire part 1, and my computer decided it would be a good idea to freeze up and not allow me to submit it in its whole goodness. Alright, since everyone with a deck in standard is either playing Fairies or worrying about the dominance that is Fairies, or they live under a rock. Pro Tour Hollywood is this weekend and, though I won’t be going, Fairies will be, en masse. I will predict that either Fairies or a deck running 3-4 Cloudthreshers between the main deck and sideboard will win. Not as bold a claim as it would appear, since Fairies was a house at the Star City 5k and 2k Opens and Cloudthresher is the best card agai... Read More
With Pro-Tour Hollywood just 7 Days away and regionals looming right around the corner, many of you are probably still looking for a deck to play for Standard, or trying to figure out which decks to include in your testing gauntlet. There are so many viable decks this season...from Faeries and Rogues, R/G variants including Big Mana and the Aggro builds, and Revelark Combo, just to name a few. Im here to tell you about my favorite deck this season, Merfolk. This is the build that I'm currentl... Read More
