The Road to Tanaris Realm Championship - Part 1 I was excited to hear the announcement about the Realm Championships. I enjoy playing at higher level events as it brings out the higher level competition. As happy as I was when I heard the announcement, I was just as sad when I found out that Las Vegas would not be holding an Realm Championship Qualifiers. With this information I decided that I would have to travel to qualify. My sister in-law lives in Phoenix (tech... Read More
Headline – Daspien Bladedancer 6-0, 3-0 in Durotar! I was endlessly researching decks with only 1 week left until the realm championships, but little did I know that a suggestion from my teammate Warren would leave me with a flight to worlds. I had initially started testing a Desrecrator Stormclaw build, along with a warlock deck, and finally a “quantumbelly” deck list Kysuke had given me. Regional championships Journey: A Scrubs Chronicle 2-18-08 I will start by saying that is going to be really cool to have the opportunity to get to play in the regions championship tournament on May10, 2008. Hi! Before we get into the meat and potatoes of the blog, I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Roger Gregory, and I’m a 20 year college student from Monticello, KY. I play Magic at Collector’s Comics in Somerset, KY, where we usually have 8-20 person FNMs. I’ve played off and on casually since Rath cycle, and competitively since Kamigawa block (thank you, Jitte). My constructed rating generally stays over 1800, wi... Read More
Hey, I'm back again with another local report, and I'm not going to comment on other people's writing this week. Oh, the joy! This week I tried to play Volcanic Monarchs. Not just any Volcanic Monarchs however. It's Volcanic Monarchs siding into Burn. It's kind of weird how I've never played Volcanic Monarchs nor Burn before. The justification for this is that my opponent will likely side into D.D. Crow and Pulling the Rug. D.D. Crow is quite useless against Burn and Pulling the Rug still ki... Read More
