Title: BLEACH Card Article #1: Restraining a Thug

Blog Entry: This can sadly also be known as "The First Bleach TCG Blog Evar." Or, "At Least We're Not Playing With Chlorine!" Okay, okay, I'll stop. Welcome everyone! It seems you have discovered the elusive Blog of the Red Mage of Card Games! It is here that I will discuss with you all in great length many strategies, decks, and concepts reguarding the Bleach Trading Card Game. I may do other games later, but I figured I'd start where my strong points lie these days. For today, we will be reviewing a common card from the Bankai expansion, and recently released tournament participation promo, Restrained! Please try to restrain your enthusiasm. Don't get too caught up in your excitement. I could do this all day.. but I won't. Name : Restrained (C74/P56) Cost : 1 Spirit Boost : 2 SPP Effect : Evil characters in your opponent's party get -3 to all stats this turn. Art : Having an alternate art Promo is an instant plus. It's like having a second chance to please everyone. That said, I'm a sucker for the Promo version's picture. Gin's expression is priceless. Evil indeed! Score : 4/5 Cost : One Spirit is all. Doesn't get much better than that. Well, other than being free. But we can't talk about free events yet, now can we? Score : 5/5 Effect : For the Pros, it's phrased perfectly. It hits an entire (BROAD) trait, and yet STILL only hits the opponent's party, leaving all of your own evil-doers safe from it's effects should you use it that way. For the Cons, it's a tech. It entirely depends on what your opponent is playing. But even so, it makes up for that in two ways: First, the boost is wonderful. Just about anyone should be able to find some utility in that 2 SPP should it not be for anything else. Second, even if it only hits a specific Trait, it does it perfectly. It can be played at any time (Even during battle, hint hint), it's effect targets en masse, and it lasts throughout the turn. Score : 3/5 Overall Score : 3.5/5 Basically, this card comes down to one problem: If. If the opponent is playing Evil, there are very few cards better than this one. If they aren't, it isn't going to be very helpful besides the basics. But fortunately, that is the nature of this game: Every card will have some measure of use at any time, even if it's just for a quick boost. Oh, and don't forget one slightly important detail: Thugs are the deck to beat at the moment. This is quite a good card to derail them. It also serves a GREAT purpose against Hollows, surprises 3-5-9, and will easily be a card to consider against the upcoming Bounts. That wraps up my first Blog Submission for TCG Player! Thank you all for reading and I hope that it was as enjoyable a read for you as it was writing it for me. And I will end this entry with one final proposal: It's been a long, long time since I've seen a good old Deck Garage. I remember in my youth spending hours upon hours reading up on the great insight people would put into helping further the deck concepts of others, and learning not only new deck ideas, but some of the thought process put into deciding what should and shouldn't go into a deck. And with these fond memories, I set out a request of you all: Email me! Send me your deck builds, be it fully fleshed out and just looking for an opinion, or just starting and seeking out an outside perspective. I would love to start a Deck Garage, like the old days, and I need YOUR help in doing so! I can't work out the kinks if there's no decks for me to tune up! Send me whatever you think will pique my interest best. If it's something new, strange, curious, it has the best chance at being featured! If it's something everyday, seen constantly at your local tournament, it doesn't have quite as much of a chance. But try anyway! Maybe noone will send me anything more interesting, and besides, I can sink my claws into taking apart a top-tier deck as quickly as anything else. Email me at ZYBleach@yahoo.com with any questions, comments, suggestions, and most importantly, Deck Garage entries! I eagerly await your words! Thank you all, and have a great summer!
