Title: The top dogs of Yu-Gi-Oh!
Tags: Which decks are dominating the Metagame and Why
Blog Entry: Yugioh's been around for over 5 years now and there hasn't been a funner card game. However, Yugioh can be split into different worlds, each almost completely different. There are those who play Yugioh for giggles. They play non-competitive yet creative decks that are used just for fun. In the other world, there's the highly competitive player's who play for fun but also play to be the Champion. These guys play decks all alike, and some different. Some creative decks make top 16, but they don't last long. It's usually the top Metagame deck that makes championship. So I went looking around and saw some interesting decks. I also saw some incredibly competive decks that looked almost exactly like the guy sitting next to him. Those decks, also known has Net-decks, are very powerful. So people are wondering, how do you counter them? Well I have looked into it and found a few cards for the top Yugioh decks. I also have found out why they are winning and how they do it. So here they are: Gladiator Beast A Gladiator Beast deck is one of the most consistent deck. Using cards like Test Tiger and Elemental Hero Prisma to manipulate through it extremely, this deck is very dominant. The main idea in the Gladiator Beasts used in tournys is to bring out Gladiator Beast Gyzarus or to just crush the opponent. Gyzarus, the very destructive Gladiator Beast kills 2 cards as soon as he hits the field. That can be a problem for players facing it. However, it's a fusion monster which can give the opportunist the opportunity for an opportune moment. Success Probability 0% can help with that. However, smart GB Deck Runners run more than just Gyzarus. In fact, some duelists run fusion monsters that have nothing to do with their deck just to prevent Success Probability 0%, and it works. So GB decks now have the advantage. But, Gyzarus and Heraklinos neither use Polymerization so it's much easier to summon. The other powerful card is GB Heraklinos. Though harder to summon, he can negate Spell or Traps by discarding 1 card. That's amazing. Just imagine GB Gyzarus and Heraklinos all on the same side of the field. Game breaking!!! But not broken. See there are many cards out there that can destroy the GB deck. Here they are: GB DECK WEAKNESSES: 1. Deck Lockdown 2. Fossil Dyna Psychaphelo 3. Solemn Judgment 4. Success Probability 0% 5. Jowgen the Spiritualist 6. Royal Oppression 7. Prohibition (Just call Bestiari, the material for Gyzarus) Dark Armed Dragon This deck was reigning supreme before GB got popular, now it has stepped down a peg, but it's still one of the most powerful decks in the meta. Why? Simple. Dark Armed Dragon. This card sets up most OTKs for this deck. All the player has to do is get exactly 3 DARK monsters in the Graveyard. But, look at the main words. EXACTLY 3 MONSTERS. That's your opportunity. Well, one of them. Card's like D.D. Crow and Disappear can sorta help with that. But the EXACTLY isn't the main deal. It's the PREVENTION. Card's like Solemn Judgment, Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror, and Bottomless Trap Hole can stop him. But not the OTK. How to you prevent the OTK? Easy. Since the MAY 9 changes, only 2 kinda cards can be run in order to cause this OTK. The 1st one is an equip spell that has a discard cost. It only Special Summons 1 and destroys the monster when destroyed. So cards that destroy Spell Cards are needed to stop it. Otherwise, do it the hard way and go against the monster. The other is Return from the Different Dimension. Simple cards like Bottomless and Solemn Judgment can prevent this. With these, not only did they pay half for nuttin' but their OTK has vanished due to RFTDD Being limited and Dimension Fusion being banned. So there are many weaknesses and here are the ways to counter them: DAD Weaknesses: 1. Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror 2. Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer 3. Royal Oppression 4. Fossil Dyna Psychaphelo 5. Jowgen the Spiritualist 6. Solemn Judgment 7. Bottomless Trap Hole 8. Necrovalley's 2nd Effect. There ya go. Now, you can find affordable ways to defeat the unaffordable. Also, don't forget to duel wisely.
