Title: Strong Statements 5/14/08
Tags: Lorwyn Block Combo
Blog Entry: I am upset because this will be the third time I have written this and had an error erase it all as I submit it. Strong Statements is the best title I have received and so it has won my little contest unless it can be outdone. After hearing about the Star City dominance by fairies, I have decided to take a break from writing about standard in favor of block since I feel my efforts to diversify and innovate standard are in vain! They aren't, but it feels that way... Anyway since I've already typed this twice before I feel lackluster about typing this, but here is Brion's Mirror! 4x Flamekin Harbinger 4x Smokebraider 4x Mirror Entity 4x Ceaseless Searblades 4x Brion Stoutarm 3x Reveillark 2x Giant Harbinger 4x Lash Out 4x Oblivion Ring 3x Crib Swap 4x Ancient Ampitheater 4x Primal Beyond 4x Vivid Meadow 3x Vivid Crag 7x Mountain 2x Plains SB 4x Firespout 4x Kitchen Finks 4x Puncture Bolt 3x Murderous Redcap The deck looks at first glance like a bad aggro deck, which it could be if you don't combo off. What combo? Something with Mirror Entity and Reveillark? Kind of. How about Mirror Enity+Ceaseless Searblades+Brion Stoutarm! That's an infinite combo my friends. You stack Mirror Entity at 0 with a Searblades and a none summoning-sick Brion. The Searblades triggers since Mirror Entity is an Elemental, resolve the Searblades trigger but NOT the Mirror Entity's, instead add another zero and resolve the Searblades. When your stack is full of Mirror Entity's 0's, use Brion to throw the Searblades and win!!! :) The problems are that Brion must have stayed in play a turn and that it is very suceptable to removal. You cna't fish him up with Harbinger of the elemental variety and he can't be powered out with Smokebraider. I'm in a hurry so I'll just say you should try it out, the list could use Mulldrifter over Beseech. G2G Until you come before me to drink in my wisdom again, Tom
